Nuba Mountains students were urged to report immediately to their schools to do general cleaning and resume classes.

Kumbur Education Supervisor Jargi Kumir Papa said that schools in the payam were making preparations to open.

He called on the community to contribute with local materials and their own work to renovate and clean classrooms to welcome teachers and pupils.

Mr Kumir said the local teachers were enough to run all the schools.

He urged teachers who failed to teach last year due to war to go back to their schools and resume teaching for the good of Nuba children.

The supervisor said coaching for the Kenyan Certificate exams stops on October 15.

He called on candidates who wanted to revise their lessons to remain there as they wait for the exams.

The ministry of education in the Nuba Mountains launched a general mobilization of education to ensure that every child has the right to go to school.
