JAPAN WELCOMES SOUTH SUDAN, SUDAN AGREEMENTS

The government of Japan has welcomed the signing of nine agreements between South Sudan and Sudan.

Japan’s Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a press statement that the government welcomed the signing of the series of agreements by both the governments.

The statement added that Japan also paid its respect to all efforts made to reach the agreements, by the presidents of both countries and the African Union negotiators.

Japan hopes that the two governments swiftly implement the agreements and promptly agree on all the other remaining outstanding issues including Abyei.

The statement added that Japan intends to continuously support the efforts of both governments for the peaceful coexistence of the two countries.
