Businesspeople from Turkey said they were ready to invest in South Sudan’s air sector.
Atlas Airlines chief Murat Ersoy headed a 25-member delegation from Turkey to study investments opportunities in South Sudan. He told the press at Juba International Airport that his company was ready to invest in an airline.
Mr Ersoy said Atlas Airlines is the leading Turkish air carrier and the group has investments in airports, construction, health and energy.
The Chairman of South Sudan Chamber of Commerce, Simon Akwei Deng, welcomed the Turkish delegation to invest in South Sudan.
Mr Akwei encouraged the South Sudanese business community to enter into partnerships with the visiting Turkish delegation in order to deliver services to the people of the country.
This was first time Turkish air transport investors visited South Sudan looking for business opportunities.
