EASTERN EQUATORIA HIGH ELECTION COMMISSION ADVOCATES FOR NON-VIOLENT POLITICAL ATMOSPHERE

Eastern Equatoria State High Election Chairperson has called on political actors to practice a free and fair elections exercise without violence.

Joseph Ojukwu made the call on Saturday during the launch of a polling awareness event at Torit’s Freedom Square.

Mr. Ojukwu stressed that every aspiring candidate is obliged to respect the rights of others and use positive language to disseminate campaign messages and create harmony among the voters, Emmanuel Radio reported.

He said peaceful cooperation between candidates of different political parties and harmony among supporters is a paramount to build democracy in South Sudan.

Mr. Ojukwu called of candidates to prepare their supporters to accept the results of the upcoming elections in amicable way and avoid cases leading to violent clashes.

The voter awareness event was graced with athletics and traditional dances from various communities in Sudan.
