Hyenas killed a number of goats and sheep in Sapaya of Tonj South County, Warrap State.
Akok Dok, who lost two goats and one sheep, told Don Bosco FM that the hyenas came to his house and killed the animals around 10:00 pm on Sunday.He said the hyenas took away one goat and left the other dead.
Mr Dok added that hyenas were increasing their attacks in the area.
On Sunday, his neighbors lost eight animals.
Mr Dok urged wildlife authorities to control hyenas and other wild animals that feed on livestock.
He said he was afraid that hyenas could start attacking human beings too.
Wildlife Deputy Chief Inspector James Rel Yak asked herders to report hyenas’ attacks to the rangers.
He said the force could compensate for goats and other animals taken by hyenas.
