Politicians should desist from intimidating voters if the upcoming elections are to be conducted in a free and fair environment.
The remark was made by the Legal Aid Officer for South Sudan Law Society, Monday Hellen, while speaking during a two-day civic and voter education training workshop that opened yesterday in Yei, Spirit FM reported.

Ms. Hellen said citizens should be given the opportunity to exercise their democratic rights and choose representatives of their choice at different levels of government.

She advised the workshop participants to share the knowledge and information with their communities to ensure success of the upcoming elections.

The civic and voter education training attracted more than 30 local chiefs, payam directors and women leaders from the counties of Yei and Morobo.
