A high ranking cleric has called former seminarians of Yei Catholic Diocese to support the church.
Christ the King-Yei Parish Priest Tom Poru made the appeal Saturday morning during the celebration of St Augustine, Yei Minor Seminary’s patron saint, Radio Easter reported. He said the former seminarians have taken the right decision to celebrate their patron saint and continue supporting the priests and the church.
Fr Poru added that it was a good plan for former seminarians to get together once a year.
The Secretary for the organizing committee Peter Mbale said former seminarians will meet every August 28 in the diocese to celebrate St. Augustine and their times at the minor seminary.
He added that because the former seminarians were scattered all over, this year’s celebration was postponed to today.
Today’s celebration was the first step towards the Association of Former Yei Seminarians.
