Unknown assailants shot dead a driver working for an international NGO, along the Chukudum-Camp 15 road, in Eastern Equatoria State.
According to Radio Emmanuel correspondence in Budi County, the driver of SNV, a Dutch NGO, was shot dead yesterday at 10 AM while riding on a motorcycle.The incident took place at Ngarera, 20 kilometers north of Chukudum town.
Resident identified the victim as Peter Popo who had gone to Chukudum for the funeral of his daughter.
The daughter of the deceased driver died one week ago.
In a similar incident less than three weeks ago, a minibus was shot at the same spot and one passenger and the driver were seriously injured.
SNV office in Kapoeta said Mr. Popo was attacked and killed by raiders whose footprints were traced towards Ikotos County.
