Central Equatoria caretaker governor, who is seeking re-election, has urged the electorate to vote for SPLM candidates from state to national levels if Southern Sudan is to get its full political share and wealth.

Clement Wani Konga made this statement while addressing a campaign rally at Yei Freedom Square on Wednesday, Spirit FM reported.

Mr. Konga said all other candidates should be given the opportunity to freely conduct their campaign without hindrance and those violating the electoral rules and regulations should be arrested.

He advised the electorate to shun candidates and parties offering bribes and advised the people to give their full support and overwhelmingly vote for the SPLM party candidates in the upcoming elections.

Mr. Konga cautioned the crowd against electing individuals who are not stable in a political party.

The caretaker governor took the opportunity to call up on the masses to actively engage in agricultural activities in order to reduce the dependency on imported food from neighboring countries.

Mr. Konga said his government was making plans of extending loans to women in a bid to empower them economically through establishment of income generating projects.

He defended the downsizing of teachers in the education sector saying the move was aimed at recruiting qualified teachers that can improve education standards in the region.
