Austerity Measures implemented as a result of oil shut down last year has slowed down the completion of Central Equatoria state Radio and TV project.

Central Equatoria state Minister for Information and Government spokesperson, Francis Barson Yuasa told Bakhita Radio this morning that the Radio and TV project was slowed down due to austerity measures that hit the state accounts.

Mr Barson however assured that the project would be completed soon.

He explained that 80 to 90 percent of the work is completed.

Mr Barson revealed that Central Equatoria TV and Radio were on testing period but were stopped due to power irregularity.

He assured the citizens to remain hopeful of Central Equatoria TV and Radio because staffs are undergoing Training before official launch.

Mr Barson did not reveal when exactly the TV and Radio would be launched.

The measures were implemented when South Sudan halted oil production due to disputes over transit fee.
