The Vice President of the Republic has called on the Government of Central Equatoria to find a lasting solution to the issues of land grabbing in Juba.

Riek Machar Teny made the call while addressing Saturday’s gathering at a thanksgiving prayer for Governor Clement Wani Konga’s return from medical care in Germany, Bakhita Radio reported.

The Vice President said many issues related to land grabbing were waiting for the Governor’s decision.

Dr Machar told Mr Konga that Kemiru and Gumbo communities were at odds due to land grabbing issues.

He urged the Governor to resolve them once and for all.

The Vice President explained that land related conflicts are undermining the social unity in Juba.

He said land issues can be solved if the leadership s courage to face them.

Conflict associated with land issues ignited tense relation between land owners and other communities of South Sudan.

Juba’s outskirts are not demarcated inviting illegal settlers to occupy those areas.
