EASTERN EQUATORIA ASSEMBLY HEARS REPORT ON PRIVATE HEALTH SERVICES

The Specialized Committee of Health, HIV AIDS, Social Development, Gender, Youth and Sports in the Eastern Equatoria state Parliament presented on Monday its report on private health service in Torit.

The state Assembly tasked the specialized committee chaired by Agnes Lox to investigate the private health outlets due to increase of deaths in the state.

Speaker Ambrose Emmanuel Ocholimoi announced the presentation of the investigation on private health outlets last week.

The committee detailed its findings on Clinics, Medical Laboratories, Drug shops and Pharmacies in Torit in a 22-page report that Radio Emmanuel saw.

The aim of the investigation was to identify all the issues related to poor medical services, procurement and medical supplies and infrastructure of the private health outlets.

The investigators had also to verify operation licenses, qualification of personnel and ownership.
