Thirty five traditional authority leaders from the six counties graduated Thursday in Yei after a three-day training to serve in the Central Equatoria Council the Traditional Authority.
Equatoria State Director for Training in the Local Government Ministry Leon Lemeri George said the 35 chiefs form the Council of the Traditional Authority, Radio Easter reported.He explained that the Traditional Authority is an institution that embraces all the traditional governance system.
Mr Lemeri called on the inaugurated traditional leaders to carry the message to the counties they come from to avoid conflicts with the chiefs.
He added that up to now there is some misunderstanding among local chiefs about the authority of the Council at payam and boma levels.
The director made these statements in Yei during the inauguration of the Council of the Traditional Authority.
