The Undersecretary at the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited Juba Thursday in a bid to revive the seriously damaged relations between South Sudan and Sudan.
Rahamatallah Mohamed Osman told reporters at Juba International Airport that diplomats and politicians do not share the same views, Bakhita Radio reported. He explained that his ministry is entrusted with the role of creating peaceful relations with other countries and Sudan needs to treat South Sudan in a special way because the new country has more added value than other neighbours.
Mr Osman affirmed that his country had no alternative but to commit itself to unity with South Sudan.
He said both foreign ministries could reinforce the ongoing negotiations process to reach a good end.
South Sudan Undersecretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Charles Manyang De Wol said the two ministries would exchange constant visits in order to revive and strengthen bilateral relations.
The visit comes at the invitation of South Sudan’s Foreign Ministry.
The Sudanese undersecretary is expected to meet several officials in the Government of South Sudan.
