Eastern Equatoria State Assembly Monday rejected a report presented by the specialized committee of security and public order on a cattle raid in Ikwoto.

In a heated debate, speaker Ambrose Emmanuel Ocholimoi charged that the committee deviated from the terms of reference set for then enquiry, Radio Emmanuel reported.

He said the report did not add up with a security officers’ investigation about the whereabouts of over 30 cattle raided in Ikwoto.

Speaker Ocholimoi warned that he would not accept any report on cattle raiding if Members of Assembly did not stand by the truth.

He said the committee did not write the truth about the raid in the report.

MP Aventore Bilal Kenyi representing Nimule moved a motion to revert the report to the committee for further investigation.

He added that two other members should be co-opted to the committee for fair representation.

The Parliament resolved that MP Martin Lopir, the Chairperson of the specialized committee for security and public order, should lead the reporting committee to avoid conflict of interest.
