A malaria outbreak is endangering lives at Thiet Payam of Tonj South County in Warrap State.

Payam administrator Joseph Anei Madoor told Don Bosco FM that a malaria outbreak is reaching dangerous levels.

He said the type of malaria is hard to be treated by local clinics and the disease resists to tablets treatment.

Mr Anei added that health assistants are confused whether the outbreak is malaria or another disease.

He said 70 people were admitted to the clinic.

Mr Anei explained that lack of doctors, nurses and medicines is making things worse.

He called on County and State authorities to send urgent assistance to the payam, including doctors and medicines, to stop the dangerous outbreak.
