The national ministry of labour has discouraged discrimination in staff salaries of non-governmental organizations.

Undersecretary of Labour Hellen Achiro Lotara told CRN that the Ministry is working to end discrimination in all NGOs and UN agencies so that all staffs with equal wok receive equal pay.

She said if an organization decides to pay in Dollars, it has to pay both local and international staffs in Dollars.

Ms Achiro said staffs paid in Dollars sell the currency in the black market and get double or triple salaries compared with national workers who are paid in Pounds.

She said paying some staffs in Dollars and others in local currency is a kind of discrepancy.

Mrs Achiro said all people paid in Dollars must use South Sudanese Pounds within the country.

She said when they withdraw money from the bank they should get it in local currency to help develop the nation.

Recently South Sudanese staffs working with UNMISS all over the country protested over discrimination in salary payment as they are paid in Pounds and international staffs receive Dollars.
