The President of the Republic called on all South Sudanese to keep peace in the country.
Salva Kiir Mayardit launched a strong appeal for peace during Thursday’s Veterans Day celebration in Torit, Radio Emmanuel reported.He said tribal conflicts from cattle raids should be contained in Eastern Equatoria, Jonglei, Warrap and Lake states.
President Kiir urged citizens of Eastern Equatoria to maintain good relations with their neighbours in Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda.
He appealed to all communities to maintain peace among them to favour development in the state.
President Kiir asked residents to be kind towards foreigners. He said they should protect them while they live in South Sudan.
The President of the Republic also advised citizens to live in peace with Sudanese people who stay in South Sudan.
