The revision of the Transitional Constitution did not start yet and time is running out for the process to be completed.

The Chairman of the South Sudan Constitutional Review Commission, Akol Tier, told CRN that the government did not released the money approved for the Commission in July.

Professor Tier lamented that the members of the commission would be idle until the money was released.

He added that he expected Commission will be given some extra time to do its work.

Professor Tier said the three-day conference on Constitution Development discussed the structures of the Government in federal or decentralized systems.

He added that conference also discussed the role of international law and the Constitution of South Sudan.

He said the members of the Commission benefited from the experience of experts from abroad during the conference which he qualified as “very good.”

The three-day conference that concluded on Wednesday was attended by the members of the Commission and was facilitated by experts from Germany, Tanzania, South Africa, Cameroun and India.

Germany paid for the event.
