The Workers Union of Yei River County in Central Equatoria State has called on the state Government to pay the salaries of September, October and November of 2009 to a number of employees.

Union chairperson Scopas Losuba Elisa said a committee was formed to investigate and follow up the workers’ salaries in Juba but no clear result was achieved, Radio Easter reported.

He added that the workers were patient enough an some are struggling to pay school fee, rent and refund borrowed money.

Yei River County Commissioner David Juma Augustine recognized that the grievances the Union presented were genuine and needed urgent attention from the Government.

The commissioner requested the committee to present the list with the total amount of money and the names of the staff to the Government for consideration.

The committee consists of eight members.
