Authorities in Yei River County of Central Equatoria State have closed down a public facility known as Woko Bayi disco hall.
The closure followed a petition presented by residents to the county commissioner, Radio Easter reportedResidents complained that the disco hall was greatly affecting pupils and people living in Hai Tarawa, Dam and Fata Dus.
County Commissioner David Juma Augustine acknowledged the complaints of the community about the negative impact of the video hall in the area.
He urged the management of Woko Bayi disco to turn the hall into a nursery school for the benefit of the community.
Yei Boma Chief Alfred Sebit called upon the communities to report such unwanted businesses to the relevant Government authorities in the county.
