Suspects have threatened Chiefs for reporting criminal cases to the state authorities in Eastern Equatoria State.

Eastern Equatoria State Minister for Public Administration and Internal Affairs Claudio Suleiman Liling revealed that suspects have been harassing some chiefs, Radio Emmanuel reported.

He lamented that other chiefs also lost their lives after identifying suspects in their areas.

Liling mentioned that the police have been deployed to pursue the criminals who might threaten the chiefs in their areas.

The minister said there is need to deploy more police forces and increase community awareness in order to discourage people from taking laws into their hands.

The minister discouraged law enforcement agents from arresting individuals without proper procedures and arrest warrant.
