The order of collecting weapons in different areas of the state followed the state security meeting conducted last Friday to control crimes.
Major General Andrea Dominic Safer, Chief Commander of division 5, said that the purpose of the order is to minimize the number of weapons in the of civilians’ hands.
Mr. Dominic added that the aim is to keep security stable in the state so that the police and other security forces find out the criminals.
He urged all security collecting team not to steal from the citizens during their duty, to avoid great shame for the authorities.
Western Bahr el Ghazal state Governor, Rizik Zachariah Hassan, said that the mission of the soldier is not only to fight but deliver other services that can be carried out inside the town.
He appreciated the work of the security agents, explaining that 59 weapons collected mean that 59 criminals are under control.
The Governor called on the security authorities in the state to be on standby every time and cooperate in any emergency.
