The Government of South Sudan said it will continue talks with the Sudan on post independence outstanding issues despite a fresh attack by Sudanese warplanes in Northern Bahr El Ghazal.
Sudan Tribune website reported that South Sudan’s delegation left the negotiating table at Bahir Dar, a town in Northern Ethiopia, in protest for the airstrike that wounded two people in Rumaker.
Government spokesperson Barnaba Marial Benjamin denied South Sudan called off the negotiations over a phone call with CRN.
Dr Marial said the bombing shows the Government of Sudan is divided over peace with South Sudan.
He added that the UN Security Council should hold Khartoum responsible for the violation.
Dr Marial said South Sudan is making a formal protest with the UN Security Council but it will continue with the negotiations.
He said nobody can stop South Sudan’s commitment to the roadmap presented by the AU and the UN Security Council for the negotiations between the two countries.
