The first girl to graduate from Don Bosco Secondary School in Tonj was among the 22 students who finished secondary school for the first time since the institution opened.

Mary Anak Reuben was the first girl to graduate from the school since it started in 1999, Radio Don Bosco reported.

Mary addressed the younger girls in the school, urging them to persevere till the end of secondary school and continue to the university as she plans to do.

Many female callers phoned Don Bosco FM to congratulate Mary for making history in Tonj to the delight of the women of the town who danced and sang along.

The graduation ceremony was prepared by the Don Bosco Youth Centre Committee with full attendance of the 1400 students that attend nursery, primary and secondary schools and some representatives of the parish council and government officers.

The 22 students who graduated are now busy preparing for the exams for the Sudan Certificate.
