The President of South Sudan has announced that the government is establishing refineries in Piang Rial area of Upper Nile State as one of the alternatives of oil infrastructures.
President Salva Kiir Mayardit said his government is also working on the second refinery which is in progress in Unity State.He added that the two refineries will solve some of the problems of the government of South Sudan.
President Kiir said the government has also signed memoranda of understanding with Kenya, Ethiopia and Djibouti how to construct alternative pipelines.
He said the initiatives will create jobs for the unemployed youth in the country.
President Kiir said it is important to maximize the resources for the benefit of all the people of South Sudan.
The President again pledged to continue fighting corruption together with civil society organizations and the South Sudanese.
The President announced the establishment of refineries on Monday during the celebrations of the first anniversary of independence in Juba.
