A number of hungry women and children around Gidel villages in Kumbur Payam gathered at Gidel Catholic parish on Tuesday morning to look for any work to do.
The growing hunger in the Nuba Mountains has caused many to occupy NGOs in search of causal work that can earn them food or any money to buy something to live on.One of the elderly women said that the hunger is intensive such that it needs the international community and WFP to speed up and bring food to the starving civilians.
The old lady added that she is forced by hunger to moved up and down looking for assistance.
Some children said sometimes they go hungry for a number of days.
Many people in Nuba Mountains are sick suffering from malaria due to malnourishment.
