OFFICIAL URGES CITIZENS TO CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE DAY IN PEACE

An official from Lakes state has called on citizens of South Sudan to celebrate the first year Independence anniversary peacefully.

The Director General at Lakes state Labor and Public Service Ministry, Abraham Makur Mangok said the people of South Sudan should celebrate their first birthday peacefully and reflect on the suffering faced during struggle for independence struggle, Good News Radio reported.

Mr Makur observed that the first year of independence has been very good noting that a lot has taken place particularly in the areas of physical and human development.

He said there is been relative peace in Lakes State’s cattle camps and that it is one of the areas in the country that has significant reduction in incidents of killings.

The director general noted that the South Sudan has registered improvement on youth empowerment and in the fight against insecurity.
