529 civil servants from different institutions in Western Bahr el-Ghazal state graduated on Tuesday after completing a long-term core skills training.

Adam Smith International and the state ministry of Labour, Public Service and Human Resource Development trained the candidates for more than nine months to improve their professional skills, Voice of Hope reported.

Human Resources Development expert Francis Odiwuor said the Core Skill Training project focused on building the capacity of state civil servants to improve the institutions’ performance.

Mr Odiwuor explained that the candidates underwent training sessions in different areas, both in practical and managerial skills.

The training included English, computer skills, management, communication skills, job description, leadership and other subjects.

Governor Rizik Zachariah Hassan congratulated the civil servants for their achievement.

He urged the state institutions to find ways to improve their knowledge and capacities, because this is the only way to develop the country.

The Governor encouraged the state civil servants to persevere in their work and serve the community at their best instead of sitting down and claiming that there is no work.
