A UN engineering team arrived in Yei to make an assessment of the roads in the county.
Andrew Paul, an economist working for United Nations Organization for Population Service (UNOPS) told Radio Easter that the team is checking on roads and bridges in Juba, Yei, Kajo Keji and Morobo counties.He said that improving roads will also boost agricultural productivity and economic prosperity.
Yei River County Commissioner Juma David Augustine praised farmers who have worked hard to produce enough food.
He said now they need good roads and bridges to transport their produce to the markets.
Mr Juma called upon NGOs to lay tangible impact on all sectors of development in the county.
The five-member UNOPS team met in the commissioner’s office.
