The Ministry of Education of Western Bahr El Ghazal has announced on Monday morning the results of the exams of students who sat for the Sudan School Leaving Certificate.
Caretaker minister Adil Atanasius Surur said that the schools in the state got successful results for the year 2012, Voice of Hope reported.He added that this year’s performance was better.
Dr Athanasius said Western Bahr El Ghazal outperformed other states in South Sudan.
He noted that private schools are performing better than the government ones.
Eight of the best top ten students come from private schools.
Dr Athanasius lamented that the number of girls is still lower compared to the number of boys sitting for the examination.
There were only three girls among the ten best students.
Dr Athanasius explained that each student has to pay eight dollars to get his or her certificate.
The document will be sent by email from Khartoum.
