YEI GIRLS SECONDARY SCHOOL WINS YCS COMPETITION

Yei Girl Secondary School won the Young Christians Students Music, Dance and Drama competition conducted at Christ the King Parish on Saturday.

The event was organized by the Yei catholic diocese youth chaplain Alex Lodiong Sakor to unleash talents among young people in music, dance, drama, and traditional dances.

Five schools registered to participate in the Music, Dance and Drama competition but only four schools turned up.

Yei River County Commissioner David Juma Augustino said the event had a unique feature.

He added there is need to increase the number of boarding schools for girls in Yei River County.

The commissioner appealed to the students to reflect in their academic results the excellent performance in the competition.

Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe of Yei congratulated all the participants.

He encouraged the Young Christians Students movement (YCS) in all the schools in the country for the spiritual formation of students.

Bishop Lodu donated 1,000 Pounds to facilitate the activities of the YCS movement.

He appealed to the students to use their young age to do good and always be happy.
