The community of Lainya County in Central Equatoria is getting ready to celebrate Independence Day through a cleaning campaign.
Lainya County Press Secretary Bullen Lugala told Radio Easter that commissioner Tereka Shedrake participated in the preparations for the celebration.Commissioner Shedrake said that it was important to celebrate Independence Day because it reminds South Sudanese of their long struggle.
Mr Lugala said Lainya people turned up willingly for the cleaning of the county.
James Ladu who chairs the organizing committee, urged South Sudanese to support their new nation’s self reliance.
Lainya County opened up new roads and built a roundabout to prepare Independence Day celebrations.
