Wau new water treatment plant is ready and consumers should pay their bills in order to get public water.

State Water Corporation Manager Joseph Akol Anei told Voice of Hope that there are great improvements in the water supply system in Wau to ensure leakages are minimized.

He said the water pressure at the intake has pumped up and the new treatment plant can supply up to 2,000 cubic meters per day.

The official added that the old water plant will also be renovated.

Mr Akol explained that every consumer has to pay 15 pound per month in order to get city water.

He urged those with debts to pay their bills in order to be connected with the Wau water system.

Mr Akol said the corporation set up a number of what he called water kiosks for those who cannot pay for a connection to draw safe water.

He urged people to use the treated water instead of taking it from contaminated wells.

Wau Water Corporation is planning to extend its services to the outskirts of the town.
