The Interior Ministry wants all foreigners living in South Sudan to register until July 7 or face deportation.

The Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Immigration issued a press release asking all expatriates not holding special travel permits or diplomatic passports to register with the authorities until July 7.

The document says that all aliens who do not register are considered illegal and subject to deportation.

Although the registration of foreigners living in South Sudan started on May 7, only a small number complied.

The press release asks South Sudanese nationals to remind their expatriate neighbours to go and register with the Immigration authorities.

Foreigners who arrive in South Sudan after July 7 have three working days to register with the authorities.
