MINISTRY SEEKS TO IMPROVE EDUCATION STANDARDS

Plans are underway to construct new boarding schools in Upper Nile in a bid to improve education standards in the state.

The state’s Secretary General of the Ministry of Education Science and Technology William Gwang Deng told a planning workshop held in Malakal that the proposal to build the new schools is part of efforts to attain global education standards, Gurtong website reported.

Mr. Gwang said development of the education sector through initiation of successful education strategy plans will greatly improve the quality of teaching in the state.

He said his ministry believes in the attainment of fundamental rights to education and development and this should be implemented and recognised by similar ministries globally.

Mr. Gwang revealed that the vision and mission of the ministry is to aim towards achieving better education standards in New Sudan, especially in the south.
