HIV AIDS is an invisible enemy that is silently killing people in South Sudan.

Lakes State health minister Daniel Gumwel Nhomabur told the participants at the end of a ten-day workshop on home based care services for people living with HIV AIDS that abstinence is the way to protect from the dealy virus.

He said love is good but has become a problem with the spread of AIDS and people have to talk openly about the pandemic and their sexual habits to avoid more deaths.

Mr Gumwel urged the participants to share what they learned during the workshop with their respective communities.

He thanked the workshop organizers for their commitment to the people of South Sudan to confront HIV AIDS.

Mr Gumwel urged partners to invest money in infrastructure instead of giving it to the authorities to avoid the temptation of corruption.

The workshop was jointly organized by the Christian Heath Association of South Sudan (CHASS) and South Sudan Aids Commission, in conjunction with the Lakes Sate Ministry of Health.
