The Department of Youth and Sports in Yei River County is organizing an inter-secondary schools marathon competition that will kick off at the end of this month.

Inspector of Youth and Sports Kujo Benneth told Radio Easter that the competition aims at identifying talented male and female runners to represent the country at regional and international levels.

He explained that the best runners will be rewarded with medals, cash and academic scholarships.

Mr Kujo called upon the naturally talented boys and girls to practice sports and explore their talents to reduce criminality in the county.

He added that students from Yei River County’s eight secondary schools will take part in the five-kilometre race.
