A children protection group has called on local communities to support and nurture their infants because they are the future of the country.

Zamzam Kome, the Juba coordinator for SOS Children Villages, spoke to CRN on the occasion of the African Child Day.

She advised children in South Sudan not to despair because there are people willing to take good care of them.

She told children to obey their parents and work hard in school to become good citizens.

SOS Children Village South Sudan is a non-governmental organization working for the welfare of children in Malakal, Upper Nile State.

The organization plans to open a Children Village in Juba.
