The Catholic Archbishop of Juba has called on returnees to accept the new challenges and realities they find while settling in South Sudan.
Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro visited today over 2,400 returnees in the Kapuri way station, outside Juba, waiting to be taken to their final destinations. He told the returnees that it was God’s plan to divide Sudan into two sovereign states. He explained that the people of South Sudan were under threat of extinction from Sudanese who controlled the country for more than 50 years.
The prelate said injustice and oppression caused a massive vote for separation in the referendum last year.
Archbishop Lukudu advised returnees to accept the division of Sudan into two separate countries.
He added that God was gradually planning the separation of South Sudan, not the politicians.
Archbishop Lukudu was accompanied by Vicar General Fr. Nicholas Kiri Bate, Caritas South Sudan and some religious sisters in his visit to Kapuri way station.
