The national Ministry of Housing and Physical Infrastructure saw its proposal to build 4,500 houses in Ramciel, the new capital of South Sudan, approved.
Government spokesperson Barnaba Marial Benjamin told the press that the Cabinet gave the go ahead for the building of the 4,500 houses in the new capital.He said the Ministry of Housing was allowed to continue discussing the process of building the houses for accommodating government officials in Ramciel.
3,000 houses will be of low standard for the ordinary people, 1,000 as middle standard and 500 of higher standards for government officials.
The green light for starting building houses in Ramciel was given on Friday during the ordinary meeting of the national Council of Ministers.
The Government decided to relocate the national capital from Juba to Ramciel, in the centre of South Sudan, immediately after the independence.
The Housing and Physical Infrastructure minister Jemma Nunu Kumba is in charge of the process.
