COUNCIL OF MINISTERS PASSES CIVIL SERVICE PENSION BILL

The national Council of Ministers has today passed the Civil Service Pension Scheme Bill and the Pension Fund Bill in its ordinary meeting.

Government spokesperson Barnaba Marial Benjamin said the bills are important for the retirement of civil servants.

He said the Government of South Sudan will handle the issue of the pension of the people who were working with the Sudan Government before the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.

Dr Marial added that pensions are part of the agenda for the post independence talks in Addis Ababa.

Dr Marial said the Council also passed the South Sudan Wildlife Conservation and Tourism bills.

He added that the two bills represent is a great boost for tourism in South Sudan.

Dr Marial said the Government will establish proper infrastructures in tourism areas in South Sudan and coordinate with the neighbouring countries to connect tourists.

The bills were presented by the minister for Wildlife and Tourism and the deputy minister for Labour and Public Service.
