At least 30 judges from across Southern Sudan states are receiving training on elections offenses and appeals.

Justice John Wuol Makec, president of Southern Sudan Supreme Court, told journalists that the judges are being trained in Juba to deal with cases of election offenses and appeals effectively.

Justice Wuol said the judges were also trained to deal with objections related to nomination of candidates.

Justice Wuol added that the training will help the judges to gain uniform pratictices in their various courts and departments across South Sudan.

The three-day training drew judges from Southern Sudan, members from the National Elections Commission and Southern Sudan High Elections Committee.
