He handed over the facilities officially to Bishop Johnson Akio Mutek of Torit on Tuesday.Mr Philip told Radio Emmanuel that the compound has 15 residential rooms, offices and other facilities that now belong to the Catholic Diocese of Torit.
Bishop Akio appreciated CRS for returning the facility.
The compound is one of the places the diocese offered to partners during the war.
Bishop Akio said the land was given to the Church by the community but it still belongs to the people because they are the Church.
He added that the handover of the property was a sign of appreciation to the Church for offering land without any charge.
Bishop Akio said he will write a letter to Ikwoto County Commissioner to inform him about the transfer of the facility adding that it will be used for the benefit of all the community.
He asked other non-governmental organizations accommodated by the Catholic Diocese of Torit to follow CRS and hand over the land to the Church instead of giving it to other organizations.
Bishop Akio thanked CRS, the local workers , the community and Ikwoto County authority for the good understanding, mutual relations and for the help offered to the people in South Sudan.
