The Catholic Bishop of Torit has encouraged the youth of South Sudan to take responsibility and unite their people to save the country from ignorance, disease and poverty.

He said youth can only become responsible citizens by embracing education where they interact with their colleagues from other parts of the country and relate with one another in harmony.

Bishop Akio urged young Christians to use the spirit of Christ in them to bring unity among the community.

He called on the citizens to promote development in their respective areas by being receptive and accommodative to investors.

Bishop Akio was speaking on Sunday at Lowoi Parish where he gave the sacrament of Confirmation to over 60 young Christians on the feast of Pentecost.
