The Catholic diocese of Tombura-Yambio is distributing non- food items to people affected by a fire outbreak in Naandi Payam of Western Equatoria.

The fire occurred on March 5 and affected 34 families destroying all their properties including houses and food.

Emergency Response Program Manager Peter Saru Paul told Anisa FM that the diocese is distributing 34 blue kits and 34 kitchen sets through the Italian NGO INTERSOS.

The blue kits contain a pair of blankets, one plastic sheet, two collapsible jerry cans, two bars of soap and other items.

The kitchen set has two saucepans, six plates, four cups and other utensils.

Mr Saru said the Church is not only preaching the Word of God, but is caring for the whole welfare of the human person, both soul and body.
