Southern Sudan High Election Committee has formed a joint mechanism for the use of media channels from the elections campaigning up to the announcement of results.
Anthony Ariki Lowly is the Acting chairman of Southern Sudan High Election Committee.He told journalists yesterday that the body for media control during elections had been formed.
Mr. Ariki said the committee is made of 16 members representing media houses, political parties, security organs and members of Southern Sudan High Election Committee.
Mr. Ariki said the committee will have its first meeting tomorrow to lay down strategies for the control of the media during the elections campaign.
He admitted that the committee has been formed late.
Mr. Ariki added that he body will perform its function to the best of its capacity till the end of the elections.
The body was formed yesterday in a consultative meeting to lay mechanism for the control of media during the general elections in the country.
