The national information minister last week ordered Arts and Music, the only music program on SSTV, to be stopped because it played Silver X’s video clip Masura √ɬê Cheat √ɬê right after President Salva Kiir’s speech last Friday.
A SSTV source told CRN today that Minister Barnaba Marial Benjamin came to the station on Saturday and told presenter Simon Bingo to stop the programme due to the situation in the country.The source added that Dr Marial explained to the presenter that if he wanted to continue with the program he should change the format and play mobilization video clips.
SSTV director told Mr Bingo that the program will not be broadcast anymore.
Arts and Music was broadcast live every Friday on SSTV.
Today will be the first day the programme is off air.
