Media is the fourth arm of the government after the Legislature, Judiciary and the Executive.
This is the view Yei River County Commissioner David Juma Augustine forwarded Thursday during Press Freedom Day in Yei town, Radio Easter reported.He said his governance is ready to support the media houses in the county and feed them with the necessary information.
Mr Juma urged journalists to thirst for information.
He said the press personnel in South Sudan should follow international standards while seeking the truth, be independent and avoid harm.
Mr Juma, who was the guest of honour at Yei’s Press Freedom celebrations, asked the gathering to pray for journalists who lost their lives while on duty.
