The president of the republic denied allegations by Khartoum that there was a coup d’√Ö¬Ωtat in Juba and that rebels had capture five areas in the country.
On April 27 2012 President Salva Kiir Mayardit said there was no coup in Juba and no areas occupied in South Sudan by any force, as alleged by Khartoum in its television report.

President Kiir told the ululating crowd that he has opened the South Sudan Embassy in Beijing, adding that his journey to China was successful, also in the meeting with the leadership of the Chinese National Petroleum Corporation.
He was speaking at John Garang’s Mausoleum shortly after his arrival from China.
